Street Beggars in Klang Valley


TITLE: STREET BEGGARS IN KLANG VALLEY.
Why we choose beggars?
From our point of view, beggars are making serious problem in the Klang Valley after a few years ago.   
There are three reasons why we choose street beggars as our topic:-
1. Will affect our social culture.  For example: human trafficking
2. Give bad image to our country. For example: tourism
3. Lack of enforcement by the authority.
The purpose of this issue is to give the awareness for the public about why this phenomenon can happen in our country.
Short Description:
The beggars are becoming a common sight along the streets in commercial areas, at night markets and outside restaurants and coffee shops.  While there are many generous people who give out of sympathy to these beggars, the public sentiment is that the beggars are a nuisance, especially when they harass people, chasing after them for money.  Sometimes, these beggars approach people who are having meals at coffee shops or at mamak's stall. Some people give the beggars some coins just to get rid of them, especially when the children are frightened by their dirty look.  Many people are wondering if the beggars are part of organised syndicates out to cash in on the sympathy and generosity of Malaysians.  The questions are how people want to solve this situation and what the authorities are doing to tackle this mushrooming problem.  They feel that the beggars are an embarrassment to the country, especially if they operate at tourist spots like the Petaling Jaya Chinatown.

    I think this is a good and interesting topic for your group to make as a DST.
    From this we will know more about street beggars and we will more alert about this because i think this is a bad thing that happend today especially in our country....

    The sympathy for street beggars is a good thing but we should remember that through this sympathy from people surrounding also will give affect.

    thank you asnida on your comment...we do more research about beggars...and we find out that some of them are in street criminal.so,i think its something interesting to choose this topic.i think we also can gain knowledge about current issue and its related to our social science...i hope that all people that see our video will take more information about beggars...thank you...     For information, at our country we already have "Akta Orang-orang Papa 1977" which is the purposes are to threat,cure and prevent them from being as a beggars. In fact government also provide place called "Desa Bina Diri" that teach them how to be a better person in society. Unfortunately, there are not only eldest/old people that we recognize as a beggars but also adult in late 30th-40th..Based on researched, actually we are now facing with a serious current issue that happen in our country...:( (Afifah A Razak)

    is the beggars will be an area unsightly. decisive action to be played by all parties that this problem can be addressed properly. in this case we should not expect the government to find ways to solve this problem but also the action of all parties is essential in overcoming the problem of street beggars. sometimes this street beggars will also act beyond our expectations if we do not give them money.     street beggar a name which is not nice to be heard, but in reality this street beggar could get a good income more than those who have jobs. There are many news about this street beggars and they can earn thousands of ringgit a month. so I guess this issue is very interesting and should be highlighted because our society still do not know a lot about this street beggar.

    In my opinion, street beggars is an issue that can not be contained then and now. Most of these activities occur in large cities and of course our nation's capital is the largest center for this activity. Next, I also think that due to the syndicate, led street beggars who beg the poor mistaken for a street beggar syndicates involved in the streets. (AZLIA)

    we can see this phenomena or this situation especially if we go to the Kuala Lumpur. we can see that at between buliding here. i feel so touching if see all beegers. for example, if we go to Pekeliling Bas Station at Jalan Pekeliling Kuala Lumpur, we can this phenemena become seroius. i think governmnet must do more agresive action to save all beegers. a systematic system must rebuild to save this people from suffering to life in city.( mohd soleh bin mohd sabri)

    Honestly i am very interested with your topic.The street beggars should be an issue of concern today by government,society and all of us.Nowadays there have been a`marked increase in the number of street beggar in malaysia especially among the foreigners.This matter will give the bad reputation for our image in the eyes of the world.The government needs to be stern and harsh to overcome this problem .(noor azila)

    Thanks guys..all of you had given us a great opinion..At first our group would like to make an interview with some street beggars...unfortunately, we can't to do that because something horror had happen to our group member during the field work.. In addition,our group member also consist of only women.And the syndicate could be anywhere..so, what can we do is, just take some video that related to our topic.
